Hurricane Irene

These past few days have been... challenging.. to say the least. The kids have not been back to school since they got out early for the hurricane! So yeah, that means we were hit... we were hit hard!  Thankfully we were ok, we lost our lights for a few days... five to be exact but no damage to our home or our family. We were very lucky to be able to stay with my parents for a few days as well, which was really a lot of fun!  I have to say losing your lights and seeing people around you suffering the loss that our community has suffered is a really humbling experience. I think sometimes tragedy is what people have to go through to remember that we have so much in our lives to be thankful for that we take for granted everyday.
